Experiment-Face Close-Ups

In this experiment, I tried to get photos of Bongos face up close so that I could get good action shots. I did this experiment because it would be interesting to see what a dog's face looks like in motion as owners can't see it very well.
It was very hard for me to get a good angle when I was taking a photo of Bongo's face because I didn't have a lot of time to set up because Bongo would run past me and I wouldn't get a photo at all. Because of this I got Bongo to wait and position myself so that the camera had more time to focus.
It was also hard for me because the camera took a long time to focus on Bongo's face meaning that I had to take the picture before the camera had focused so that he didn't run past before I could get a photo. Because of this I got Bongo to wait and position myself so that the camera had more time to focus.
Because I didn't have time to position the camera, it meant that some of the photos I took wouldn't have all of Bongo in it meaning it wasn't a very good photo. Instead I tried to position myself before I took the photo and got Bongo to wait. Another solution I used was to take a series of photos and pick the best ones out of the series.
Because there was different lighting in different areas, some had intense and some dark, I couldn't adjust the the aperture, exposure, ISO or the shutter speed in time for Bongo to be in motion. Because of this I took the photos in the day when the light intensity was greatest.

I really enjoyed doing this project because I learnt how important it is to get detailed photos of animals when photographing them but also how difficult it is to get really close up action shots because it is easy to miss the animal or have them blurred etc. This experiment gave me the idea to make a film becuase it would be easier to follow the dog's face whilst it was in focus and study its movement.
